A gallery
for dialogue.
Galeria Filomena Soares was established in 1999 in Lisbon, fostering a productive dialogue between artists, curators and institutions working in the Portuguese and international art scenes.
Now in its third decade, the gallery's programme spans exhibitions, artist projects, institutional collaborations, performances and interdisciplinary initiatives — having worked with curators including David Rimanelli, Rosa Martinez, Jürgen Bock and David Rosenberg.
The gallery maintains a strong commitment to art bookmaking, having published several monographs, artist's books, exhibition catalogues and limited editions in close collaboration with artists and institutions.
Located on Lisbon's east side — a historically industrial area undergoing urban revitalisation — the gallery occupies approximately 1,000 square metres, comprising two exhibition rooms of varying sizes to accommodate diverse project types.
